ABOUT US 

Merama is seeking to become the best and largest online group of brands Latin America. Our business model is to partner with the leading merchants across Latin America (currently they are focused on Mexico, Brazil, Argentina, Peru and Chile) and with our team, capital, and technology to fuel additional hypergrowth. Unlike the dozens of Amazon aggregators that have popped up over the past few years, Merama is solely focused on Latin America, works with very few partners, and does not purchase companies outright. Instead, they are focused on identifying the top few companies in certain major categories and selectively partnering with the best by purchasing a stake in their business. Our company was founded 6 months ago by a group of entrepreneurs and former consultants, marketers, logistics professionals and e-commerce experts. We recently announced our Series A fundraise of 160M USD and we seek to change the E-commerce landscape in LATAM. 

Merama is seeking a rockstar to accelerate expansion to Colombia 

Your mission is to:

  • Help Merama expand to the new country, in every aspect: set up the Merama legal entity locally, deal sourcing, finding and negotiating deals with local operational partners
  • For deal-sourcing: use you network and help create one, conduct face-to-face meetings to develop relationships with prospective partners
  • Operationally, forge alliances with local operations: sales channels/retailers, import agencies, fulfillment networks, local tech solutions
  • Coordinate with central teams based in Mexico (deal sourcing, M&A, marketing, etc)
  • Create and lead a small local team as necessary, coordinate most initiatives with regional team in Mexico
  • Over time, help strategize on how to make the new country ever more relevant to Merama in terms of brands, and financial performance

You will be a good fit if you:

  • Have 4-8 years experience in retail, e-commerce and business development
  • Are able work autonomously, are and results-driven and have a growth mindset
  • Have worked in fast-paced environments and high-growth startups
  • Have a general understanding of marketing, logistics and other functions required for e-commerce
  • Understanding of imports process from you local country is a plus

Additional requirements: 

  • Advanced working knowledge of Spanish and English at minimum – Portuguese a plus
  • Location: Colombia 
  • Availability for travelling
